2012 King Of Kings - BigJon Tightline Shootout

Welcome to the official site of the King of Kings!  After seven (7) successful years, and many requests from tournament participants, we are pleased to announce that we have added a Spring Tournament for the 2012 Season which will be held on June 16, 2012 at Bluffer's Park Marina in Toronto, Ontario.  The original Summer Tournament will be held on August 4, 2012 at Bluffer's Park Marina.  We appreciate the support we have received from our sponsors and tournament anglers in the past and are confident the Spring Tournament will be great success.  .

The 2012 Big Jon Spring King of Kings Tournament will be operated as an invitiational tournament as well, and we are now accepting registrations for the 2012 Spring Tournament.  However, out of courtesy we are offering those teams that fished the 2011 Tightline Shootout the first opportunity to register and hold their spot in the Spring 2012 Tournament.  In order to reserve your entry, registration forms (available under the Tournament Info Page) must be completed in full, and forwarded along with a $200 depost, to Tighline Fisherman's Warehouse by November 15, 2011.  After this date, there will be no reserved spots for returning teams, and any spots will be open to other tournament teams.  For any new teams looking to fish in the tournament, we welcome your registration form/deposit to fish the event at any time, and will form a waiting list (based on the date the application is received), and begin to assign spots from the waiting beginning on November 16, 2011.

For the 2012 Big Jon Summer King of Kings Tournament deposits for returning teams are not due until May 15, 2012.  However, we continue to accept registration forms/deposits for teams looking to be placed on our tournament waiting list.

Many of the top salmon sportfishing teams from all over the great lakes will assemble for the one day shoot-out format and compete for over $60,000 in Cash and Prizes!  In additon to the many sponsors that have supported the tournament over the years, we are very pleased to have BigJon Sports as the Title Sponsor for this years event - welcome BigJon Sports and we look forward to a long standing partnership

The King of Kings is a limited field (60 team), observer mandatory, one day tournament that is by invitation only.  This unique tournament format welcomes teams from around the great lakes and provides for a very competitive and exiting one-day fishing tournament on Lake Ontario with the winner being crowned as the "King of Kings" and rewarded with a huge cash payout!   In addition, to a great day of fishing and the opportunity to fish for the large cash prize, the tournament is also recognized for donating money, on behalf of tournament participants, to enhancing the Lake Ontario Sportfishery and supporting local charities including the Canadian Cancer Society.  No wonder the tournament has been sold out over for the past six years with a waiting list of teams to get in!!

The entry fee for the tournament is pegged at $1,000 Cdn/team with a payout to the top 10 teams.  We also can’t forget about the Ross Patrick Memorial Big Fish Award which is worth $1,000, or the exciting 3 fish Calcutta that is organized each year - which in previous years has added over $4,000 is cash to the prize pool!  Assuming a full field (again), at a minimum payouts will be to the top 10 teams, including a 1st place payout of $25,000 cash - not bad for one days fishing!

For the past seven (7) years the event has been a huge success and is talked about as the “premier” Great Lakes one-day fishing tournament.  Our wait list is a testament to this statement.  We would like to thank all of the tournament participants and the many sponsors who have supported the tournament over the years.  We encourage you to put our sponsors products to the "test", and wherepossible support them in your upcoming purchases as without them we would not have a tournament.  We are always looking to add key sponsors and if you would like to participate please let us know.

As always we welcome your questions and comments, and please do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a great fishing season and tightlines to everyone,

King of Kings Tournament Committee
